International businessman Marc Helman is the man behind Victoria's newest paddle boarding adventure company, PacificSUP. After a 25-year career from founding startups to leading service industries across Asia, Marc's desire to connect with his three young sons inspired him to create Jeju Island Paddle Boards, the precursor to PacificSUP.
Looking to build on the successes of Jeju Island Paddle Boards, PacificSUP brings paddle boarding directly to Greater Victoria in a simple, hassle-free way. "PacificSUP is more than a mere paddleboard rental company: It's about the experience and the community," Marc says. Packages includes all gear, lessons, and a highly skilled naturalist tour guide for each of the eight locations around Vancouver Island.
Connection is key in the service industry, and has clearly defined the Helmans' vision for PacificSUP. Marc states that "at PacificSUP, our mission show every child that they can accomplish whatever task they put their mind to. It starts with the acquisition of new skills and leads to grit and determination. We want to teach every child on Vancouver Island how to stand up paddle!"
Recent immigrants to this side of the Pacific, Marc and his family all embody the values and mission behind PacificSUP. The three Helman boys are an integral part of the company, learning the ropes as brand ambassadors, gear- and website-testers, and always looking forward to their next tour around Elk Lake.
